Gibbo Takes Course Record

Scratch Team Member Steve Gibbs set a new course record in the August Midweek Stableford.  Steve shot a 68, grabbing the new course record, previously 69 held by Steve Mayor.  All the more impressive, was how he achieved the score, only hitting one green in regulation on the front 9.  Steve found the water on the first hole with his second shot, giving a bogey start to his round.  However, his short game prowess with only 9 putts for the first 9 holes put him back on track.  It was incredible to watch the master at work.

Gibbo, who won the competition with 44 points, has now had his handicap cut to 5.  Since joining the club in the spring, Steve has made his mark on the club, winning the Academy Foursomes with David Blair, second in the club championship and the Littlewood Trophy.  Gibbo is also magic on the karaoke!!!
