The Summer League 2011 begins Wednesday 1st June. You can register from 3pm onwards. This is a pairs league run over a series of 8 events played wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Please look at the diary or the competitions board for all the dates. The best five results will count towards your league total. Players require 6 qualifying cards on the day of their first event played to enter.
Josh Hughes won the singles knockout tournament following a close final with Sophie Thompson. The match was all square after 18, and went down to the 2nd extra hole. Congratulations to both competitors for playing a good match.
David Sarson became the first club champ of the year on saturday 7th May, winning the Junior Club Championship by 3 shots from runner up Joe Lawlor. David shot 76 and 78 for a gross total of 154 in the 36 hole event. Josh Hughes led the way following a fantastic first round score of 73. However disaster struck on the the second round which put him out of the running. Joe Lawlor took the Nett prize, with Sophie Thompson finishing 2nd nett only 1 shot behind.
The Juniors have a home match against Aston Wood this Sunday.
