Greens Construction Project 2018

Many of our long standing members will have witnessed the considerable work and investment in the golf course throughout the last 25 years. The majority of the original greens have been reconstructed to modern drainage standards, new lakes built, and the course was even extended onto new land to provide 3 newly constructed holes. Our aim has always been to develop the golf course to an exceptional standard, however this has taken significant time and resources. We have taken on board comments and feedback from members both past and present as we look to further invest in the enhancement of our golf course.

On Thursday, the Club Members Committee were presented with plans to commence significant course improvement works. These works will be carried out by a golf course construction company with considerable experience. The work to be carried out will involve the redesign and reconstruction of at least 4 greens (2,4,5,12), with an estimated 8 week construction period. This is weather dependent and, if time and other factors allow, we shall look at further works whilst the company are available. We have been given this window of opportunity by the contractors to begin on 12th September.

The construction works will cause some disruption to play and will involve using some temporary greens, but the contractors are experts in this field, and will ensure that any disruption is kept to an absolute minimum.

This is a very exciting period for the club, and we hope you are looking forward to playing on the completed holes.

The progress of the project can be viewed by looking at the hole pages on this site.
